Academy Potluck No. 1

“mama says: long noodles, long life,
so I slurp them loud, drink gingery
broth—polka-dot beads of sweat
forming as my nose hovers over
the soup’s steam... -- Ina Cariño from Everything is Exactly the Same as it Was the Day Before

Potluck literally means
luck of the pot in reference to feeding unexpected guests. Our modern interpretation recalls a community meal consisting of offerings that range from comforting to mysterious. This week on melodically challenged, were serving up some of the tastiest new poems found at the Academy of American Poets in our show Academy Potluck Vol. 1. Some of our poets this week include Karisma Price, Regan Good, Leila Chatti, Ina Cariño, and John S. Blake. You'll also hear music by Tab, Monk Turner, Jim Rooster, and more. As Julia Child once said, A party without cake is really just a meeting. So, join us for this weeks poetry potluck at melodically challenged-where yesterdays poetry comes alive and todays poetry rocks!
